Commercial Development Director
About the Company
Our client is a company specializing in the trade and distribution of medical equipment, currently in a full expansion phase across the Tunisian and regional markets. Driven by sustained growth and a portfolio of leading international brands, the company is strengthening its commercial governance by creating the position of Commercial Development Director.
Your Mission
Reporting directly to General Management, you will be the driving force behind the company’s commercial growth. In this role, you will:
Define and steer the commercial development strategy in line with the company’s expansion ambitions
Identify and develop new markets and segments (clinics, public and private hospitals, laboratories, imaging centers, pharmacies)
Structure, lead, and upskill the sales team (recruitment, coaching, goal-setting, performance evaluation)
Negotiate strategic agreements with major accounts, public institutions (tenders), and international partners
Develop and maintain a strong network with healthcare decision-makers (facility directors, department heads, hospital pharmacists)
Maintain active competitive and regulatory monitoring of the medical devices and equipment market
Manage the commercial budget, forecasting, and reporting to General Management
Contribute to the product portfolio expansion strategy and negotiations with international suppliers and manufacturers
Profile Sought
Advanced degree (5+ years post-secondary) in business, management, pharmaceutical, or biomedical sciences; a combined scientific/commercial profile is a major asset
Proven track record of at least 10 years in commercial roles, including at least 5 years in a management or team leadership position
Significant experience ideally gained in the pharmaceutical industry and/or the medical equipment and devices sector
Excellent knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem in Tunisia (decision-making channels, public procurement, medical device import and approval regulations)
Strong high-level negotiation skills, key account management, and tender response expertise
Strong leadership, results orientation, and the ability to structure a commercial function in a growth environment
Fluency in French and Arabic; a good level of English is required for relations with international suppliers
Availability for frequent domestic and international travel (trade shows, supplier visits)
